IntroductionToTallyERP9
Tallyispowerfulaccountingsoftware,whichisdrivenbyatechnologycalledconcurrent
multi-lingualacceleratedtechnologyengine.Itiseasytousesoftwareandisdesigned
tosimplycomplexdaytodayactivitiesassociatedinanenterprise.Tallyprovides
comprehensivesolutionaroundaccountingprinciples,inventoryanddataintegrity.Tally
alsohasfeatureencompassingglobalbusiness.Tallysoftwarecomeswitheasytouse
interfacethusmakingitoperationallysimple.

orclickonthebuttonsprovidednexttotherespectivetextboxestochangethe
pathofApplicationDirectory,DataDirectory,ConfigurationDirectory,Language
DirectoryandLicenseDirectory.
 ApplicationDirectory-Theprogramfilesresideinthisdirectory.
 DataDirectory–bydefaultTally.ERP9dataisstoredinC:\Tally.ERP9\Data.
Duringtheinstallationprocess,thewizarddetectsandretainsthedatapathof
previouslyinstalledversionofTally.ERP9.
 Configuration Directory– by defaultthe configuration files reside in the
applicationdirectory.
 LanguageDirectory–bydefaulttheLanguagefileswiththeextension.dctare

storedintheapplicationdirectory.
 IntheLicenseDetailssection,bydefaultUseLocalLicenseFileisselected.
 LicenseDirectory-bydefaultthelicensefileresidesinthelicensedirectory.
Note:EnsurethatanearlierversionofTallyERP9Silverisactivated.Enterthepathof
theLicenseDirectory.ThisenablesyoutorunmultipleinstanceofTally.ERP9Silveron
thesamecomputerusingasinglelicensefile.
 ClickNext.
 IntheCountry/LanguageSelectionscreen,checkInstallOperatingSystem
LanguageSupporttoinstallTally.ERP9withmulti-lingualsupport.
Note:To useTally.ERP 9 inEnglishonly,un-checkInstallOperatingSystems
LanguageSupport.
 ClickInstall.
TheSetupStatusscreenisdisplayedasshown.

detailedcanbeviewed.

providesthefacilitytoentertheMailingNamefield.ItdisplaystheCompany
Namebydefault.Youmaychangeitasrequired,ifthemailingnameisdifferent
from theCompanyName.Themailingnameandaddressdetailsarepickedup
forinclusioninanyreportthatneedsthecompanynameandaddressasheading.

accommodatesalltheenteredinformationandverticallycompressesthesame.
Note:InthespaceprovidedfortheAddressdetails,observetheverticalcompressionas
comparedtotheMailingNamefieldwherethereishorizontalcompression.Youcan
specifyanylengthforthemailingnameandyouarepermittedtogiveanynumberof
linesfortheaddress.Theinformationiscompletelyvisible.
